Fruit and Vegetable Challenge



You know that eating fruits and vegetables are good for you, but do you actually eat them?  The health challenge for this six weeks involves challenging yourself to follow your own advice. What is the recommended daily intake for fruits and vegetables?   Can you go at least three days consuming that amount?  Be adventurous and try new foods to add variety to your diet.

  1. The daily intake should be at least 2 cups of fruit and at least 2 1/2 cups of vegetables. I've become somewhat obsessed with the new trend juicing and I've been able to get my intake that way. Every glass of juice I drink contains kale, spinach and a variety of fruits and vegetables. I always mix it up and yesterday I tried broccoli which is a vegetable I really dislike but I did try it and what I love about juices is that you can barely taste most of the vegetables. Something different I've been trying out as well is a new water mixture: water, mint extract, lemon, lime and cucumbers and it is said that it helps with weight loss but it tastes good as well.

  2. The recommended daily intake is about three cups of vegetables and two cups of fruit. This passed year or so my mom has constantly been introducing new vegetables in our diet, which has been exciting and odd at the same time. I recently tried parsnips, which was an unusual taste for me, but still a neat experience. I have found that I love snacking on raw veggies such as cucumbers and carrots. I also love green spinach leaves in salads. There is such a wide variety of lettuce and spinach leaves which can add a really unique taste and texture to a simple salad. Every morning I try to have an orange or grapefruit which I have found has helped me with my immune system (especially because I get really bad allergies). I honestly think an orange a day keeps the doctor away! In addition, an apple right before lunch, I have found, is a great boost of energy. Before I use to eat chips when I got hungry before lunch which satisfied my hunger for a while, but didn't actually give me any energy for the rest of the day.
    It's without a doubt difficult to keep up these good habits and give in to cravings. But, worth all of the effort.

  3. Harvard's The Nutrition Source recommends you eat “five to thirteen servings of fruits and vegetables a day (2½ to 6½ cups per day), depending on one’s caloric intake”. Although I like to include many fruits and vegetables into my diet you don’t realize it’s not enough. When it comes to vegetables, I believe you can never have too much. Fruits on the other hand have to have more value than sugar. For three days I tried to incorporate the exact amount of recommended values for fruits and veggies. I found it a little difficult being a high school student with a busy schedule but I feel as if it helped energy wise in the end. There is a whole world of vegetables out there that have so many benefits for your body that you don’t even think about. I always eat fruit in the morning like a banana, blueberries, or strawberries and try to eat greens throughout the day. My favorite thing I found out over the past few days was how many things you can put in a salad... Just with lettuce alone you can have up to 4 different types benefitting your body with nutrition value. Doing this made me have a little fad with Kale and Spinach. By the third day I wanted to keep eating more fruits and vegetables. I thought this was a good challenge because it forced you to go out and learn about different foods.

  4. The recommended daily intake for fruits is about two cups and for vegetables it’s about three cups. Typically, I eat a fair amount of fruits in vegetables in my daily diet because normally my mom cooks dinner and she always includes at least two vegetables as sides. A lot of people are super picky when it comes to eating vegetables but ever since I was little my parents have exposed me to different types of fruits and vegetables which has really widen my diet. This challenge wasn’t particularly difficult for me since on average I already eat the daily recommended intake for fruits and vegetables. During this challenge, I did venture out and try a new vegetable, eggplant. It definitely had a different taste, I wasn’t particularly fond of it but it was a good experience and I’m glad I tried something new!

  5. I do my best to eat fruits and vegetables but sometimes it’s a little challenging. I like a lot of fruits like peaches, pineapple, grapes, bananas, oranges, tangerines, etc but I am not a huge veggie person. I’m like a child when it comes to veggies, just the corn, green beans, carrots, simple veggies. So for the past two weeks I have been focusing on replacing starches with veggies and sweet snacks with fruits. My face has become smoother and clearer and I feel so much better. I feel healthier and not sluggish. It is said for my age to eat .5 cups or fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables a day. I have kept up with the fruits but not the veggies but I will continue to work on that in the future.

  6. The recommended daily intake for fruits is two cups and three cups for vegetables. I try to eat a lot of fruit but the vegetable intake is a little harder for me to reach; it's harder to eat vegetables as snacks throughout the day! I went three days and tried to eat the recommended daily intake of fruits and vegetables, and I found that I had no trouble reaching the recommended intake of fruits (I eat an apple and a few tangerines as snacks during the day and lots of berries with my breakfast) but the vegetable intake was a little harder to meet. I started trying to eat new foods; eating a lot more salad at meals and snacking on carrot sticks. I found that the more vegetables and fruits I ate, the less I wanted to snack on unhealthy foods-like potato chips and cookies. A good alternative snack is sweet potato chips-they are still crunchy and salty but also have nutrients.

  7. The average recommended amount of daily fruit and vegetable intake amounts to 2 cups of fruits and 3 cups of vegetables. Using a Fruit and Vegetable Calculator, I found out that I should be getting 2.5 cups of fruits and 3.5 cups of vegetables per day. Over this past 3-day weekend, I strived to acheive my recommended amounts of fruit and vegetable, which helped to balance out my unhealthy Easter eating habits. I ate a lot of grapes, bananas, pineapple for my fruits, and a lot of carrots and lettuce for my vegetables. I felt very positive about myself in seeing that I could adhere to my recommended amounts. I will try my best to continue this challenge, but it may be harder to do so in college.

  8. The recommended daily intake for fruits is 2 cups and for vegetables it is 3 cups. The great thing about being part of a family who is familiar with the traditional Vietnamese and Chinese culture/cuisine, for me at least, is there is always something new that you get to try. Whenever my parents go grocery shopping they bring home fruits and vegetables that we are never really accustomed to or see in America such as jackfruit, durian, dragonfruit, bokchoy etc. During these last three days, I felt like the fruit part of the challenge was easy since I love eating fruits! The vegetables on the other hand was a different story. It's bad but I only eat vegetables if my mom uses it to cook dinner or something. The reason why this is in my opinion is the fact that fruits are easy to prepare and eat, you just cut them up and it's ready to go. While for vegetables you have to steam them, chop them up, season them, etc. which is a lot of work for a girl who is honestly not that great at cooking in the first place. Overall, I guess to keep on going with this challenge I just need to start learning how to successfully cook vegetables.

    I personally really love fruits and vegetables! They make really good snacks and are my favorite add-ons for lunches and dinners. The recommended daily intake for fruits and vegetables per day for teenagers is 2 cups of vegetables and 1.5 cups of fruit for females and 2.5 cups of vegetables and 2 cups of fruit for males. For adults, the average increases by about .5 cups for each intake. I normally consume that many fruits and vegetables in a day. I took extra notice to how much I was eating of each and realized that I could eat a few more vegetables per day. During this produce challenge, I tried brussel sprouts which were actually really good! Overall, I think that more Americans should eat more fruits and vegetables per day. It can be as simple as grabbing a banana for breakfast, changing your snack to a clementine, and asking for vegetables as a side at restaurants!

  10. I really enjoy fruit but surprisingly I do not eat them very much. My parents don't like buying fruit. We normally eat vegetables with every meal so I do get the recommended daily intake of vegetables. The recommended daily intake of vegetables is 2 and a half cups. The recommended daily intake of fruit is 1 and a half cups. This was difficult because my parents would only buy the canned vegetables which weren't so great. I ate the fruit after dinner because I like it cold and taking it to school seems weird. I found that the recommended daily intake depends on age, gender, and physical activity. It is easier for me to meet the recommended daily amount for vegetables because my parents have vegetables with every meal unlike fruit. This will definitely change once I move out because I prefer healthy food unlike my family so I will be able to buy more fruit, vegetables, and healthy food.

  11. The intake of fruits and vegetables for a person varies by age, weight, gender and body structure. Generally for men, the intake of fruit is about 2 cups and the intake of vegetables is about 3 cups. For women the intake of fruit is about 1 and ½ cups and for vegetables are about 2 and ½ cups. This challenge was not too challenging for me because my parents eat a very healthy diet, so we have lots of fruits and vegetables in our house. We as a family already have been incorporating these fruits and vegetables in our diets. But for me to successfully do this challenge I had to eat a little more as snacks to try and get the maximum benefit. I believe that it will not be much harder for me to maintain a healthy living style with the recommended fruit and vegetable intakes.

However, the average amount for vegetables is 3 cups per day and 2 cups of fruit per day.The challenge was not difficult at all. These foods, even if they are raw, taste good. There are many different ways of eating fruits and vegetables, so if you do not like eating them raw, there are other alternatives. With this challenge, I incorporated more fruits in my breakfast. As a snack, I brought an apple to school; for dinner, I had a serving of both fruits and vegetables. This is a very easy and beneficial change someone can make to their diet.

  13. I really like vegetables, from Brussels sprouts to spinach, but i really dislike any kind of fruit. The daily intake of fruits is about two cups a day, and vegetables is about 3 cups a day for teenagers. I usually have no problem meeting the requirements for vegetables, but I took this challenge to mainly incorporate more fruit into my diet. I feel that fruit, especially strawberries, are too acidic and taste sour to me. For a solution, I ate fruits that we not as acidic tasting, like grapes and watermelon, and took them to track meets and games that I had to go to in order to constantly consume that food. I did not notice a big difference in energy, I might try to stick to this new diet a little longer to see if a change occurs, but overall i will definitely stick to vegetables.

  14. The recommended daily intake for fruits is 2 cups per day and for vegetables , and about 3 cups per day. I tried this challenge and although I eat fruits and vegetables on a daily basis, it was a little hard to implement it in my diet more often then I do. I liked the fact that by doing this challenge I felt overall more healthy. I would eat grapes with my breakfast, an apple for my snack, and would eat a salad for lunch. I pretty much used apples, grapes, salads, and oranges to help me complete this challenge. Overall, it wasn't that hard because I eat fruits/veggies often, but the hard part was remembering that I had to eat a certain amount for 3 days, because at times I forgot that I had to remember and had to keep writing it down and setting reminders to eat them. I noticed that I felt more healthier on the inside and my digestion was a little more improved, so I will continue to implement as much as I can of each on a daily basis.

  15. I have always been a proponent and avid consumer of fruit, but vegetables were another story. I would consume the standard carrots or green beans on a regular basis, but did not have enough quantity or variety of vegetables in my diet. For five days, I made sure that I ate at least two servings of vegetables. I ate asparagus, peas, and various mixed vegetable combinations. This was not a hard challenge at all, it was just a matter of making the change. Although I will probably not eat quite this much on a daily basis, I know that vegetables are essential in a balanced diet so I plan on increasing my overall daily intake of vegetables.

  16. According to the dietary guidelines for americans, 2 cups of fruit daily is recommended if you are a male age 14 or older. Well this challange was kind of easy my parents keep plenty of fruits and vegitables at the house all the time, and are healthy people so i had an easy three days. Every day my parents make me get the daily reccommended amount. This challange was great and i would influence everyone to try it, because it really makes you feel better!

  17. I have always liked both furits and vegitables almost equailly, so this challenge did not initaly seem difficult. Once I did the research and read that half your plate each meal should consist of fruits and veggies I started to reconsider. The recommended amount of for my age, sex and activity level (calculated on http://www.cdc.gov/nutrition/everyone/fruitsvegetables/results/women.html?age=19&gender=female&activity=sed) is 2 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of veggies everyday. The hardest part of the fruits was cutting everything up and measuring it to the exact amount. The veggies where harder for me because I normaly only eat veggies at dinner, and becuase I work late I don't always eat whatever my mom made for dinner. In the end I went about 2 days measuring it out and eating the exact amounts, the only noticeable difference for me was my skin looked nicer. This might not have been the fruits and veggies but its just something I noticed, I think if I had continued it for a longer amount of time I would have noticed a difference in my physical health.

  18. The recommended intake of fruits and vegetables was about 2-3 cups each. I really love fruits and I don't have a problem trying new things usually but I did have issues with consuming the recommended intake for vegetables. For the fruits I could either make smoothies or put them in the freeze and eat them like Popsicles. For the vegetables I had a lot of difficulty eating the amount I was supposed to but like Sonya I tried juicing instead and met my daily intake that way. After this I realized that I really need more fruits and especially vegetables in my diet and hopefully after this that will change.

  19. According to the Live Strong website, women should have a daily intake of 2 cups of fruit and 2 1/2 cups of vegetables. When my mom cooks dinner she always has two sides of either some type of vegetable or fruit, but a lot of the times I wont bother to put some of them on my plate because they just look nasty. By taking on this challenge of eating the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables for a girl my age I guess it was about time I tried some of them. The new ones I tried were squash, asparagus,and spinach. I honestly was not a fan of either of them but I am glad I tried new things. I am a big fan of fruit so the fruit was not very hard to do. I did find this challenge a little hard just because you do not realize how much you actually need in your diet.

According to Harvard School of Public health the latest dietary guidelines call for five to thirteen servings of fruits and vegetables a day (2½ to 6½ cups per day), depending on one’s calorie intake. I hate vegetables and love fruits so obviously eating the right amount of fruit was extremely easier than it was eating the vegetables. I pretty much eat all fruit so I did not really need to get creative to enjoy eating the recommended amount; the vegetable part though was a bit of a struggle. I like lettuce, steamed broccoli and green beans, other than that I do not eat anything else that is green. With that in mind I set on a mission to find other vegetables that I could not only stand eating but also actually enjoy eating. I found that I could surprisingly eat spinach without cheese! I tried zucchini and loved it yet brussel sprouts still make me cringe. All in all I consider this a mild success because I was forced to realize that vegetables are not really all that bad if one is willing to take the time and muster the courage to try them.

  21. The recommended intake for fruits and vegetables is about 2 cups each. I try to incorporate these in my everyday diet but its harder than i thought! So what I did was juice all my vegetables and drink them for breakfast. It was alot easier to drink the daily intake than to worry about eating them sometime during the day. Doing this gave me energy and eliminated the fatigue i used to feel at the end of the day. It was a good investment for my overall heatlth and i will continue to do it.

  22. Well depending on how many calories is right for your individual needs i.e. your height and weight you have to adjust your caloric intake which includes the fruits and vegetables. Typically it can range from 5 servings to upwards of 16 servings so it's hard to say unless you know or can estimate your daily caloric requirements. It is however a well-known fact that the majority of you calories should come from carbohydrates every day. A lot of the time however people fill these required carbs with breads, grains and pastas as appose to fruits and vegetables. For my challenge I will commit to drinking a healthy blended smoothie or green drink every evening. Drinking this blend everyday will allow me to consume larger amounts of fruits and vegetables daily in addition to my nightly vegetables. I always eat some side of either broccoli, carrots, string beans, corn peas or some combination of the sort with dinner. The green drinks consist of spinach, grapes, a banana crushed ice and a little aguave nectar, which is a natural sugar.

I usually eat a lot of fruits so my problem was eating more vegetables. For fruits, I usually eat an apple for breakfast, banana for snack, and a home made fruit smoothie for dinner. These days, i've been trying to stay away from junk food and replace it with fruit to make my eating habits healthier. For this challenge, i tried eating more vegetables by looking up healthy recipes of different meals with a good portion of vegetables in them. I feel that in this challenge, i was successful and im going to try to keep eating veggies in my daily meals.

  24. From detailed research the recommended amount of fruit is 2 cups and vegetables is 2.5 cups daily. I am usually good about eating fruits, because I love to eat fruits. Vegetables are what get me. My mom tries to fix them differently every time she prepares them to get me to try them. It has opened up my variety of vegetables, and I am started to eat them more frequently and enjoy them. The three days that I consumed the recommended amount wasn’t all that hard. After I completed the second day, I felt like I had more energy and just overall happier. I am going to try to continue this challenge and see how it goes in the future to create healthy eating habits.

  25. While I have always loved fruit, I have just recently begun to eat vegetables. Since the recommended serving for my age is 2 cups of fruit and 2 1/2 of vegetables a day, I knew I was missing out on essential nutrients. I started trying new, different kinds of vegetables and found out that they were much more tolerable than common ones like broccoli and peas. For the challenge, I ate carrots with hummus everyday, and a salad at dinner, and then tried to incorporate a new vegetable each night. I really started to like different types of squash so I made spaghetti squash, kabocha squash, and zuchinni squash the three nights. I also made sure to get my fruits by bringing cuties for lunch and eating a banana for breakfast or a snack. Overall, I know my body appreciated receiving more vegetables because of the nutrients, and I will try to continue to eat as many as I can. I think more people would be willing to eat vegetables if they knew how to cook them and not just microwaving a bag of peas for dinner. There are so many varieties of fresh produce that people just need to venture out and try all that there is offered.

  26. Oh yes, I love my fruits and vegetables. From the time I was a young elementary student, spinach, greens, cabbage, corn, peaches, applesauce, grapefruit, and so much more have been favorites of mine. I even did not mind the taste of brussel sprouts when I first tried them, despite the bad reputation they obtained. I am not sure how many cups of fruits and vegetables I naturally eat, but the recommended for a girl of 18 years of age is 1 1/2 cups of fruit and 2 1/2 cups of vegetables (ChooseMyPlate). This recommendation is also based on one who exercises less than thirty minutes a day. Of course, the recommendation may increase as physical activity rises. As for the challenge, eating fruits and veggies is pretty common for me, so being adventurous is a little difficult. However, salads containing tomatoes, croutons, Gouda cheese, and turkey bacon bits I believe, have been a common lunch and dinner this week. Also, when I have to grab a quick breakfast, I tend to, but do not always, include an apple. Sometimes I save it for a midday snack, or late afternoon when I am home. I would imagine that eating one apple and two generous bowls of salad provides me with at least one cup of fruit and certainly at least two cups of vegetables. Especially since I often add more lettuce to my salads when they get low, I am positive that 2 1/2 cups of vegetables per day have been achieved.

  27. I tried this challenge (as much as I could!) last week - more fruits and veggies than I normally eat - EVER! I couldn't go to the local farmer's market in Coppell because I was out of town, so I stopped by the local farmer's market on Sunday on my way back to Dallas (in Fairfield, TX) to grab what I could (fresher and more organic than what I could get at the grocery store in Dallas!). I had fresh veggies and fruit almost every day (in conjunction with other food - meats and starches) - with the exception of one day that I had a frozen steamer bag of broccoli/carrots/cauliflower... that still counts, though.... right? :) I always feel better when I eat more veggies/fruits, but now that I am weighing in for the HCC, I get to see the positive effects a little clearer. I lost TWO POUNDS this week alone, just by adding more veggies to my diet. AMAZING! One thing I didn't realize until this week (since I am tracking my calories on myfitnesspal app)... fruit has quite a few calories! I quickly chose to eat more veggies than fruits through this challenge, which I prefer anyway.

In my daily diet, I try to include fruits and vegetables, but with a busy lifestyle, sometimes it is hard to incorporate vegetables and fruits into my daily lifestyle. The three days weren't that hard for me because generally I have either a fruit or vegetable at each meal. My mom tries to make vegetables different ways so we don't tired of having the same thing. I feel like if you actually put in an effort to making fruits and vegetables a part of your daily lifestyle it isn't that hard to keep up. Fruits and vegetables arent hard to access or hard to make. I think if you keep your mind open, its easy to have a healthier lifestyle by adding fruits and vegetables to your diet.

  29. According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, the average fruit and vegetable intake for my age and physical activity level is 2 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables per day. Every morning I eat a banana and at lunch I pack strawberries and apples. I also pack carrots for lunch, and every night my mom makes either peas and corn, asparagus, broccoli, or some other kind of vegetable. I actually love fruit and vegetables so the three days weren't hard for me at all. I could have strawberry banana smoothies, and I even packed more vegetables in my lunch. Because I like fruits and vegetables, it is easy for me to incorporate fruits and vegetables into my diet and even try new things. I think the only vegetable I haven't liked is brussel sprouts. I think if we simply went and got more fruit and vegetables it would be really simple to eat our recommended amount every day.

  30. I tried eating fruit for five days. At first it was awful but then I realized how great I felt after eating better! I usually do not eat fruit at all and the recommended daily serving is about 2 cups. Eating fruit gives you more natural energy so that you can function properly without having to eat lot of processed sugars and caffeine.

  31. Before this challenge, I thought I ate the perfect amount of fruits and vegetables. After attempting o eat the recommended daily intake for fruits and vegetables that is approximately 2 cups, I realized how difficult it was to eat the right amount of healthy substances. I really tried to eat the perfect amount of fruits and veggies by juicing, cooking, and mixing them but I became extremely full after just a short amount of time. I made concoctions out of fruits with a juicer and actually really enjoyed the product. It was easy for me to eat fruits, but it was a little bit harder to eat the proper amount of vegetables.

  32. On an average basis I eat a fair amount of vegetables and fruits. Fruits are a lot easier to incorporate into my meals because they require no optional cooking. So fruits are easier to grab as I'm running out the door. Vegetables I eat more towards dinner time and my parents cook them different ways and make them yummy. The daily recommended value for fruits is around 2 cups and for vegetables its 2.5 cups. I found it difficult to eat this many vegetables in a day but the fruits were very easy, plus I like fruits more than vegetables. I liked having to set a goal an trying to reach it on a daily basis and will probably continue to try to eat the daily servings recommended to help improve my overall health.

  33. Before this challenge, I ate a lot of fruit, however little to no vegetables. I saw this challenge as a chance for me to change habit and make it better. I made a plan where everytime I grabbed a fruit, I would grab a vegetable or two along with it. This plan worked charms for me and I was successfully able to fulfill the 2 cups a day requirement for fruits and 2.5 cups requirement for vegetables a day! I am trying to continue this on a daily basis right now and change my snacking habits from crackers and chips to fruits and vegetables

I used to struggle eating both fruits and vegetables, but a few weeks ago my dad got this new device called the "NutriBullet" which is pretty much a smoothie maker that you add actual fruits and vegetables to to make a smoothie. Since then I have been able to get my daily value of fruits through the making of delicious smoothies that contain all sorts of berries, kale, almond milk, lettuce, and all sorts of fruits. For the vegetables I asked my parents to make homemade meals that had a lot of vegetables and they did. So I got my daily fill of at least two cups of fruit and two and a half cups of vegetables and I noticed a significant change in my ability to focus in school and improved my attitude compared to when I didn't have my daily intake of fruits and vegetables. Keeping up with my vegetables will be difficult because it requires home cooked meals and those are hard to come by with my family's hectic schedule, but I am loving these NutriBullet smoothies and want to continue with having them as often as possible.

  35. The recommend intake of vegetables for a adult is about 3 cups. Before starting this challenge I think i was maybe getting like maybe 1/4 of what I needed to get. To eat all the fruits and vegetables, I made fruit smoothies or just eat them raw. I noticed a difference in that I was feeling more energized and needing to eat less in meals. I didn't think this challenge was particularly difficult and I enjoyed trying differnet fruits.

  36. I eat fruit everyday, not because I have to but because they are some of my favorite sweet tooth cures. I eat blueberries, blackberries, apples, and bananas every single day and strawberries and watermelon often but not every day. I may be zealous for fruit, but I cannot say the same for most vegetables. With that being said, the recommended intake of fruits and vegetable daily is 2 cups of fruit and 3 cups of vegetables, so I know I meet the recommended fruit intake but I cannot say the same about vegetables, so what I decided to do was take a school weeks amount of days (5 consecutive days) to add 2 different kinds of fruits and vegetables to my diet so that I could reach the recommended amount. So for the fruits I added mandrin oranges and raspberries to my mix of fruit in the morning and to the mix I eat before lacrosse practice which consists of blueberries and black berries. I actually liked the new addition of fruits! For vegetables, I added some greens so I went with adding a side of green beans and and a side of broccoli to my dinner each night which added with my half cup of baby carrots I eat daily and some potatoes I reached the recommended serving of vegetables for those days. Unlike the fruits, I in fact did not like adding these. I definitely like fruits more than vegetables.

  37. When I think of eating fruits and veggies I am not phased is any way. I don't love or hate them they are just a part of my diet, but how much do I actually eat them? I tried the three day challenge last week and I must say I did like some of the effects. I had more energy and felt better after most meals. It also helped fill me up without all the extra sugars. All in all it changed the way I view fruits and vegetables now I try to get at least one serving of both at every meal. I suggest this challenge to anyone and everyone.

  38. I actually love fruits, but if I don’t have access to them I won’t go out of my way to try to eat some. I'm not a big fan of vegetables but if I have to I will eat only certain types. I went online to a fruit and vegetable recommendation calculator, entered my age, sex, and my daily physical activity, and it recommended that I eat 2 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables per day. Things such as an apple, a wedge of a watermelon, or an orange counts as a cup of fruit and a potato, 12 carrots, or a corn on the cob count as a cup of vegetable. I found it quite easy to eat 2 cups of fruit but it was a struggle to eat 2.5 cups of vegetable without it feeling forced. I think I can try to accommodate these intakes into my diet and I will see a difference in my health.

I am not a very picky eater and I have always loved the taste of fruits and vegetables!I would usually only eat them when somebody put them in front of me, therefore, I never really made an honest effort to bring fruits and vegetables into my diet before the challenge. I have to say it wasn't too hard to eat one serving of fruits or vegetables with every meal, plus I loved the taste! All in all I thought this was a very helpful challenge and I will definitely be eating more vegetables and fruits in the future!

  40. The intake of fruits and vegetables for a person varies, on average for men, the intake of fruit is about 2 cups and the intake of vegetables is about 3 cups. For women the intake of fruit is about 1 and ½ cups and for vegetables are about 2 and ½ cups. This challenge was not too difficult for me because we have lots of fruits and vegetables in our house. As a passionate fruit enthusiast i have been including these fruits and vegetables in my diet. But for me to successfully do this challenge I had to eat a little more fruit as a replacement to my daily snacking to try and get the most beneficial results. I believe that it will not be much harder for me to maintain a healthy living style with the recommended fruit and vegetable intakes.

After a little research, and typing my information, such as my age, sex, and amount of physical activity into the calculator, I learned that a girl my age needs to eat at least two cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables each day. I will admit that I am not the biggest fan of fruits and vegetables, and I definitely do not eat as much as I should each day! However, sometimes I will eat carrots and celery, but only if I dip them in ranch or peanut butter, taking away any healthy aspect the vegetable had to offer in the first place. I have always wanted to branch out and try new fruits and veggies, but I am not very adventurous with foods, so the three day challenge was the perfect chance for me to force myself to try something different! I looked up different ways to subtly incorporate vegetables in your diet, and I learned that I absolutely LOVE steamed carrots and asparagus. This three day challenge really made me realize that it's about time I change my regular diet.

  42. I absolutely love fruits and my family loves them, too. So this challenge was very easy for me. I made a smoothie using all kinds of fruits and vegetables everyday and replaced my dinner with it. I did this for a week and I lost 3 pounds. I wasn’t tired or moody due to hunger however I had more energy to do more things. Fruits will give you fiber and nutrients that your body needs. The sugar will give you energy and fortunately it’s the good sugar that comes from the fruit and not added.

  43. Vegetables and fruits are in my daily intake of the food I consume. My parents do a good job of adding vegetables and fruits in the dishes we eat at home. Well to back answering the question, according to livestrong, 2 cups of fruit daily is recommended if you are a male age 14 or older. For adult women, the recommendation is 2 cups of fruit daily from age 19 through 30 and 1 1/2 cups after age 30. For vegetable intake it is required to eat 3 cups per day and just 2 cups after age 50. First of all I would like to say that the challenge is piece of cake because I have been doing it my entire life. One of the creative ways I use vegetables is when I eat noodles and I add them every time! Vegetables and fruits are vital to my healthy lifestyle.

  44. After doing some research, I discovered that I should be eating about 2 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables each day. On a day to day basis, I do not eat nearly enough fruit or vegetables. Although I don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables, I do eat some. I love fruit, but I’m not really crazy about vegetables. I lasted three full days eating the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables, but this challenge was somewhat difficult. I enjoyed this opportunity to branch out and try new fruits and vegetables!

  45. With the help of research, the daily intake should be at least 2-3 cups of fruit and at least 2 1/2 cups of vegetables. I've become somewhat obsessed with fresh smoothies and I've been able to get my intake that way. Every glass of smoothie I drink a variety of fruits milk, yogurt, and sweet vegetables like bell peppers. This may seem strange to put veggies in smoothies, but its actually pretty good. I try to mix it up with different fruits, and even eat salads on the side. Something different I've been trying out as well is eating more carrots and squash. I normally don't eat them, but when they are roasted in the oven, its actually pretty good.

  46. 2-3 cups of vegetables and 2-3 cups of fruit are the recommended serving sizes for daily consumption . This challenge for me was not difficult at all. In fact, it came pretty naturally. I LOVE eating fruits and veggies. I eat fruit in almost every meal and eat lots of vegetables for lunch and especially dinner. This challenge has allowed me to try new vegetables and fruits. I've learned that I like brusel sprouts as well as kale. Kale is a green leafy vegetable that resembles lettuce. The other day I made kale chips. They were a much healthier version of potato chips. I look forward to expanding my knowledge in regards to nutrition.

  47. I Eat fruit every day, but my vegetable intake is slacking. After doing some research, I found that the recommended fruit intake for my age and gender is 2 cups and the recommended vegetable intake for me is 2.5 cups. I don't come near hitting this recommendation. While I eat apples and grapes every day, it is really not enough. Vegetables are even scarcer in my diet than fruit. I think this is due to the ease of eating such terrible foods. If vegetables were easier and quicker to have then I think it would be a different story. I am going to make it my goal this next week to have three straight days of eating the correct intake of fruits and vegetables. There would be a difference, I'm sure. Now if we got everyone to do this, America wouldn't be considered so unhealthy.

  48. For women age 19 to 30 daily fruit intake should be 2 cups and daily vegetable intake should be 2 and ½ cups. A good indicator of how much fruit equals a cup is whether it fits in your hand (small or medium) or if it is the size of your fist (large). One cup of fruit is similar to one small apple, a banana, an orange, or half the serving of canned fruit. Remembering to eat fruit and vegetables has not been hard to do over the course of three days. Each day I brought a banana to school for a snack in the morning and ate orange slices or an apple at lunch. It was hard for me to branch out on fruits because I am particular about them and typically do not like most melon related fruits but I did try peaches with my family one night and was surprised by how much I liked them. Vegetables were the harder food group to maintain the recommended intake over the three days. For every dinner meal, my mother tries to include some type of vegetable side dish but if it had been left up tome I probably would have forgotten them all together. Over the three days I had corn, green beans, and a mixed veggie dish of steamed carrots, peas and corn. I can’t say that there was a considerable change due to my different intake of fruits and vegetables but I did notice how I felt after eating such foods. I realized that I feel lighter and more energetic after eating fruits throughout the day and my meals at night had more substance than just rice or meat.

  49. In doing some research, I found that everyone should have about 2 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables each day. That honestly astonished me, as 2.5 cups of vegetables would personally be hard to obtain. However during this challenge, I have come to the "green" side and have figured out vegetables that I quite enjoy. Who knew spinach was actually decent? Or squash? or even asparagus? For the three days, fruit was not the problem, as i love all types of fruit including apples,berries,banana,kiwi and so on, but that I had to discover what vegetables I actually enjoyed. By doing this challenge, I have come to enjoy some vegetables, and have created a more balanced diet, making sure I get all the healthy food groups, which in turn, will lead me to a more healthy, vegetable filled life.

  50. Based on my age i found that i should consume 1.5 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables a day (based on a 1800 calorie diet). I found that once i found fruit and vegetables i like it was very easy to eat that amount of them. I love bell peppers and asparagus and once i started eating them i couldn't stop. Fruits are a little harder, i LOVE fruit but its harder to eat them during meals when i am not at home. I found myself eating grapes, strawberries, and apples because they were the easiest to get to. Recently i have started to realize how horrible i feel if i don't eat fruit and vegetables during the day. If i can just replace one piece of chocolate with a piece of fruit i will feel much more energized.

  51. The recommended daily intake for fruits and vegetables based on a 2000 calorie diet is 9 servings total (2 cups fruit, 9 1/2 cups vegetables). When I found this out I was kinda shocked, mainly because I ate terribly below the recommended values. So in order to beef up on my fruits and veggies, I went out shopping with my mom and bought a variety of organics that I would eat to help me through the challenge. I thought three days would be a bit to short, so I challenged myself to a week. So when I went to the grocery store, I bought oranges (cuties), strawberries, apples, bananas, corn, green beans, pears, grapes, and tomatoes. Using several recipes I got from online, I was able to find a lot of easy meals that I could prepare using all of the fruits and vegetables I bought. This was a really good idea for me, because I love to cook. Also since there were a lot of recipes out there, it was really nice to spice up my usual menu. I didn't think the challenge was too hard, probably because I like fruits and vegetables. I would say the reason I don't eat a lot of fruits and vegetables is because there really isn't a lot of them at my house. That usually makes me turn towards more convenient foods, like crackers, chips, and cookies. So I think, personally, the best way to remedy this is by surrounding myself with fruit and vegetables as well as to find cool, new recipes to make with the extra produce.

After I had filled out my age, gender and my level of physical activity on the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), it stated that I needed to eat 1.5 cups of fruits and 2.5 of vegetables. Before I started this challenge I thought, that this was going to be easy and that I can even eat more than the recommended amount. It turned out that I couldn’t eat that much. I am a very picky eater because I would only eat fruits that are sweet. If they weren’t then I don’t eat as much. The main fruits that I would eat were oranges and strawberries, but they weren’t as sweet so didn’t eat much. If the fruits are in season I can a whole bag or box. Vegetables wise, I eat about 1 cup. I can’t eat vegetables by itself. I have to eat them with some type of meat or else I don’t eat vegetables at all. I also noticed that I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy any fruits and vegetables. I would just eat whatever is in the fridge. From now on, I will try my best and eat the recommended amount because it’s not that much to eat.

After going 3 days of consuming these amounts of fruits and vegetables, I feel pretty good about myself. I have figured out whihc fruits and vegetables I like and which ones I do not like. Since I tried this challenge, I have been adding more vegetables to my diet and have been eating a lot of fruit through out the day to keep me feeling a little energized. My diet is getting filled with more fruits and vegetables and less of junk food and unhealthy food.

  55. The recommended daily intake of fruits for a girl my age is 1 and a half cups, and vegetables is 2 and a half cups. I generally eat a lot of fruits, but not as many vegetables a day. After going for 3 days of eating more vegetables, I feel like I have more energy. I tried brussel sprouts for the first time, and even though they were gross and I didn't like them, I guess it was good to try something new. In the future I will talk to my family about eating more fruits and vegetables in order to help all of our health increase, instead of just my own.

Vegetables, I like them, but I wouldn't eat them as often as I eat fruit. After this challenge, I realize that consuming the recommended daily intake is a lot harder than you think it would be. I struggled to get my daily intake in, but it was definitely worth it. I felt like it was sort of a cleanse, to eat healthier! It kept me energetic, and I felt like my metabolism was going haywire. It overall was a good experience and I am trying to continue doing this challenge, to make it part of my lifestyle to make me become a healthier person.

  57. It is recommended for one to consume at least two cups of fruit and three cups of vegetables a day. I began eating a healthier diet after starting this challenge by making healthy smoothies. These smoothies were composed of healthy greens such as kale, wheat grass, spirulina, radish greens, and lettuce. Most of them tasted terrible, so I added fruits such as strawberry, banana, blueberry, and pineapple. Since starting this challenge, i've noticed that my skin is not nearly as oily and is softer. Also, I have much more energy. I have replaced sugary soft drinks with these smoothies and I love the way I feel! No preservatives, no chemicals, and no processed ingredients!

Some days I have no fruits or vegetables at all. For three days I challenged myself to eat healthy and stick to the recommended intake and afterwards I felt so good and I realized though how difficult it is to actually consume the right amount to be healthy. From now on I plan on making smoothies to get the right amount I need to be healthy.

I went grocery shopping with Jaquelynn to an asian market, and tried many different fruits that I've never heard of before. We also explored different vegetables that she has never even heard of before. It was definitely a new experience to try out all these exotic fruits that I've never heard of or seen. Some were good, and others I couldn't even try because they smelt horrible. They also kind of looked funny. Overall, it was a great experience, and it made my mom proud of me for trying new things.

I take this product by Genesis Pure called Daily Build that provides my daily intake needs for my fruits and vegetables in a small shot. I think this method is much better than trying to eat what is actually recommended because it is very difficult for everyone to purchase that much food and to remember to eat that much everyday. People get busy and want to fill themselves up with meats especially for athletes so people forget to include their fruits and vegetables. I have noticed a difference after taking Daily Build and recommend everyone to try it out. I feel much healthier and it is easy and affordable.

  61. From what I read, the suggested intake of vegetables and fruits is around two cups apiece. My meals generally consist of some type of fruit and vegetables.For this challenge, I not only continued to eat fruit and vegetables, but tried new ways to eat a little more than the recommended amount. This six weeks I juiced alot of vegetables and supplemented that for dinner, and I also had fruit smoothies for breakfast.

By using a Vegetable and Fruit Calculator from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, I found that my daily intake of fruit should be 2 cups and my daily intake of vegetables should be 3 cups. I typically eat almost twice this serving of fruits each day; nevertheless, my daily intake of vegetables often times falls short. With that said, I had to make a conscious effort to eat more vegetables as a part of this challenge. On top of that, I ate the recommended portion of fruits as well in order to make sure I wasn't eating too much(considering some fruits contain a lot of sugar). The last three days have been pretty rewarding. It's actually surprising how much healthier and happier I feel after eating so many healthy foods rather than processed foods. I really hope to continue this challenge and incorporate it into my daily life from here on out.

I believe I eat more than the daily intake of fruit because when I play golf fruit is the first thing that I ask for, but the only time that I really eat vegetables is when my mom cooks them for dinner. Since I started eating the recommended portion sizes I have been able to tell a difference in my behavior and how it has given me more energy throughout the day. After trying this I am going to attempt to continue this challenge and improve my overall health.

  64. Considering that my eating habits are extremely unhealthy, this challenge was very difficult for me to complete. I don't really eat any fruit or vegetables at all, so to get to the daily intake of 2 cups of fruits and 3 cups of vegetables was very hard. I noticed though that i was able to go to sleep faster and sleep better, along with more energy through the day, while doing this challenge. I might keep this challenge up for those purposes.

I was able to do the fruit part at least, while the vegetable part was a little difficult (I personally don't "love" vegetables, I much more prefer to eat fruit if I have to because I love sweets ). This was a little different because I'm not used to eating things that are healthy for you, as albeit, my diet habits aren't that healthy for the human body. Although I must say that I feel as though I was able to feel a slight boost in energy throughout the weeks that I was attempting this. Very much doubt I'll keep doing it.

When trying to find the daily fruit and vegetable intake, I found a nutrition calculator that tells you the exact amount of fruits and vegetables you should eat depending on your age, gender, and daily hours of physical activity. This told me that I should eat 2.5 cups of fruit and 4 cups of vegetables every day to stay healthy. Being an athlete, fruits and vegetables are very important for my health in order for me to stay in shape. I already like eating fruits and vegetables so I already incorporate these foods in to my daily diet. Every day i have those in my lunch, just probably not that much. If you actually stuck your mind to it, this challenge could be something that would be very easy to accomplish. Fruits and vegetables are foods that everyone should have in there diet and are not to hard to eat, considering that a lot of them taste good!

It was a little challenging at first because I wanted to eat a bag of chips instead of a banana or carrots or broccoli. I realized that I was more energetic in softball and throughout the day. I have learned that it is better to eat more fruits and veggies because that gives your body more energy and sugar in order to work properly throughout the day. I tried zucchini for the first time and I thought it was okay I don't like it as much as I do carrots and broccoli. I would rather have zucchini in a smoothie mixed with strawberry and try new fruits and veggies that way. I am going to try and change my eating habits for good and eat more veggies and fruits.

I have a banana with every breakfast and an apple with my lunch every day. The vegetables were a challenge because I'm not a big fan of them. I started to eat carrots along with my lunch and broccoli or asparagus with dinner but I still struggled to consume the recommended amount. My mom tried to make me try beats but that was just plain awful. Consuming the recommended amount of vegetables was a lot harder than I anticipated.

  71. The recommended daily intake of fruits is 2 cups and is 2-3 cups of vegetables. To me, these recommended daily values are easy to hit. Breakfast usually includes an omelet with vegetables (usually spinach) and a piece of fruit. Right there, after one meal, I only have to eat a combined 3 cups of fruits and vegetables the rest of the day to hit the prescribed amount. Lunch usually includes a cup of each, with vegetables usually being carrots, or a salad and fruits being an apple, grapes, or strawberries. Dinner almost always includes both a salad and another form of vegetable (broccoli, asparagus, peas, corn). This gives me more than the recommended amount of produce without really pushing to do so. Hitting the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables does not seem to pose a major challenge for me.

Then at lunch I will have an apple with my sandwich, or pizza. (haha) Then once I get home I will either have a plate of carrots or a plate of cucumbers before dinner. Then for dinner I will always have either a salad or a vegetable like, peas, corn, green beans, or something of that nature. Without really going out of my way to get the daily intake I can meet the recommended amounts.

  73. The daily intake for fruits is two cups a day and the daily intake for vegetables is between 2-3 cups. I never really used to count the servings of the foods I eat and to be honest, I never really cared. But when I thought about it I actually was able to keep a diet that was able to incorporate fruits and vegetables. In the morning I would normally have a fruit such as a banana or an apple to start off my morning so there is one of my servings. At school I would always get 1 serving of fruits and a serving of vegetables (sometimes two servings of vegetables). When I get home I would eat some food that was normally carbs and protein oriented with a serving of vegetables of some sort. While I study or do some other work, instead of snacking on junk food I would grab a fruit of some sort and therefore complete my daily intakes for both vegetables and fruits. To be honest, people really can make a difference in their diets but no body really cares. Small things can make a difference.

I eat fruits and vegetables often but I don't count exactly how much I'm suppose to have. Last week before prom I tried counting my fruits and vegetables and trying to eat healthy. In the mornings I would eat a banana and for lunch I would have snap peas and green beans along with an apple and strawberries, and at dinner I would eat whatever vegetable my mom made that night. I don't think it was hard at all, but maybe its because I had prom as my motivation. It honestly was not difficult, I enjoy eating fruits and vegetables and now that I know how beneficial they are to my health and how easy it is to consume them I will be continuing the way I have been eating.

I usually try to get a pretty good amount of fruit and vegetables everyday, but once i actually tried to get the daily amount, it was way more difficult then I had planned. I would try to have some sort of fruit in the morning with my breakfast, some for lunch, and a lot of vegetables for dinner. Especially since I play soccer, my carb intake is a lot higher, but the daily amount of fruit and vegetable intake made me feel like it balanced each other out. Overall, it was a great challenge to do. I felt more energetic, and think that I can incorporate this into my daily eating habits.

In my house, my mom does most of the cooking and makes many vegetarian meals every week, easily meeting the required daily amount. This varies from fresh green beans to squash and zucchini. There's just usually always something. Just to be sure, I looked at what 3 cups would be visually. Unfortunately, it's been a pretty long time since I have eaten fruits. At lunch, I started eating an apple if I could find one and at home I started to eat green grapes and clementines. I did this for 4 days before I stopped measuring my fruit intake. It was a weird adjustment and I did not feel a very noticeable change in my health. I might not go to 2 cups but I will certainly make more of an effor to eat more fruit.

I was able to meet these requirements for the past week but I have to say that I didn't see a noticeable difference. In my opinion, fruits are healthy and all but they don't really fill you up or suppress hunger. I feel the same about vegetables but I love eating both so the challenge wasn't too difficult. Although there was no noticeable change, since I felt like I was eating healthy, I actually began to exercise more as well so in a way eating healthier didn't only make me healthy but also motivated me to make other changes in my lifestyle.

  78. We all know the daily intake for fruits and vegetables is based on your calorie needs for your age, sex, and activity level. For me, 2 cups of fruit and 3 cups of vegetables is needed every day based on my age(17), sex ( female ), and level of physical activity ( more than 60 minutes). I know I can go three days consuming that amount because I love to eat fruits and veggies. As children some, where told, "you have to eat your veggies." No one had to tell me that, I pretty much just ate as long as it filled me up.

  79. The daily intake for fruit is supposed to be 2 cups a day, and 2-3 cups a day for vegetables. I usually would start my day off with a granola bar or something like that. Although I had begun replacing it with a piece of fruit such as an apple or some tangerines. I found that I was actually more awake throughout the day. At lunch time, I have dual credit so I get home around 12:30, I started eating a grapefruit for lunch with some celery or carrots. For dinner I would have an entrée meal of some sort and my mom makes steamed vegetables with almost every meal. I would end my day with some frozen mixed berries, which honestly taste like candy. I noticed that my skin looked and felt healthier and I had more energy overall. People don't understand the benefits of fruit and vegetables, and some of the inconveniences of life can be solved by the consumption of fruits and veggies.

  80. I know eating fruits and vegetables are good for your body, but I still don’t eat them as much as I should. According to the SFGate, the recommended intake for vegetables is 2 ½ to 3 cups per day. The recommended intake for fruits is 2 cups every day. I started this challenge last week and it was difficult for me to eat fruits. With school work and extracurricular activities, I barely got the recommended amount of fruits. To change that, I started my day by eating a banana or an apple every day for breakfast, instead of eating cereal. For me, eating vegetables is not a big problem. When my mom cooks dinner, she always leaves space for vegetables. So when she was cooking I asked her if she would make some room for fruits and she did. Now, when we eat dinner, we have both fruits and vegetables.

  81. After doing a bit of research, I have discovered that around 2 cups of fruits and 2 ½ to 3 cups of vegetables is recommended for intake each day. Usually, I try to eat a piece of fruit in the morning or for a snack at school. To be honest, I do eat fruit more than vegetables but I try to eat some kind of vegetable daily. I am sure that I get the daily intake of fruit into my diet but not the correct about of vegatables. Instead of packing a lot of fruit in my lunch, I can start bring carrots or broccoli or even celery to make sure I do get my 2 ½ cups of vegatables I need for a healthy diet.

  82. You're suppose to have 1 1/2 cups of fruit and 2 1/2 cups of vegetables. I tried this and for me it was easier to eat fruit then vegetables. I did have at least one serving of vegetables a day but i never ate 2 1/2 cups. I did manage to eat 1 1/2 cups of fruit everyday. It was refreshing after a meal. I am going to try to continue this and eat more vegetables then I usually do

  83. The daily recommendation for fruit and vegetable intake per day is 2 cups of fruit and 2.5-3 cups of vegetables. On the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website, there is a fruit and vegetable calculator. Based on my age, gender, and activity level, it was recommended that I eat 1.5 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables per day. When I first started this challenge, it was easy for me to have the right amount of fruit because I am used to having fruit for breakfast, in my lunch, and for a snack sometimes. I like pretty much any type of fruit so I enjoyed having a variety each day. On the other hand, it was more difficult for me to reach the 2.5 cups of veggies per day. I typically have some vegetables at dinner, but they aren’t as easy to grab and go. Since I’m not used to eating a whole lot of vegetables, I had to be intentional about trying new things such as a spinach salad with cucumbers, bell peppers, and tomatoes. After the three day challenge, I have continued to try to have the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables. I have realized that they fill me up and leave me satisfied and feeling better about what I’m eating. Something that I did not try during the challenge that I would like to do is to make smoothies with various fruits and veggies. I hope to keep up this challenge and incorporate new fruits and veggies into my diet.

  84. For your intake in fruits you should have 2 cups, and for vegetables you should take in about 3 cups. This challenge was easy for me because i already eat my daily intake of fruit, actually i take in twice as much. Eating the vegetables was the difficult because since it was a health challenge i couldn't cover the vegetables in cheese like i usually do. i had broccoli, cucumbers, peppers,carrots, and cauliflower vegetable wise, and fruit wise i ate, bananas, apples, oranges, grapes, plums, pears, lemons! I made a lot of smoothies with these fruits as well. I would hope to maintain this type of diet with this much fruit and vegetables for my future diets.

  85. The correct amount of servings of fruits and vegetables is 2-3 servings (or cups) per day of each. I thought this challenge would be a good way to me to keep myself in check to see if I follow that on a daily basis. I started the April 9, because this would give me a good, healthy few days before my tryouts and prom! Each day, I had an apple for breakfast to start off my metabolism! Then for lunch I had chicken breast, with a cup of strawberries or a pear and bell pepper. After School I came home and cut up half of a cucumber and drizzled some dressing on it! I like to have this every day after school and just change up the dressing so I don’t get burnt out. I also like to have a couple pickle spears because those are my freebies ☺! With dinner, I had a cup or green beans or broccoli for 2 of the days, and a salad the third day (which included lots of veggies!) At the end of the 3 days, I found that I had more energy and felt better throughout the day! I also found that though I thought I was eating enough, I needed to add more fruits and vegetables to my daily intake!!

  86. CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), stated that I needed to eat 1.5 cups of fruits and 2.5 of vegetables. Eating fruits and vegitables isnt a problem for me at all. I was never one to be forced to eat them. Buut to make this challenge alot easier, I ground up a bunch of fruits and made a smoothie so I basically got all my vitamins and nutrients for the days I drank the smoothie. It wasn't hard at all and I still carry out this challenge because I know its good for my health

  87. I know vegetables are good for me but I struggle putting them into my diet. They just aren't as good. However, the recommended daily intake is about three cups of vegetables and two cups of fruit. I try to incorporate vegetables into my diet and hopefully I will be able to feel a result in how I feel and how my body begins to be healthier.
